In order to solve the critical environmental and energy issues of the 21st century, devices developed in the future will need to use fewer resources and incorporate energy-saving designs. This research program is conceived to establish next-generation technologies for developing applied electromagnetic devices by applying material utilization and design technologies based on vector magnetic property theory, a unique approach developed at Oita University. It is dedicated to creating a new industry by building a center to support the development of applied electromagnetic devices in Oita Prefecture. With the support of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), Oita Prefecture is focusing the capabilities of industry, academia, and government, including private companies, universities, and public research institutions, on joint research in order to achieve specific regional research and development objectives. The program is operated under contract from JST.
